DAMA: the association for data professionals

DAMA Australia represents the Australian Chapters of DAMA International, the non-profit industry association dedicated to advancing the profession of data management. Our chapters in Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne, and Sydney provide a forum for members to exchange information, ideas and experiences.

We help data management practitioners become more knowledgeable and skilled in their profession and stay up-to-date with the latest developments in managing data.  We help everyone gain an understanding of data and the role it plays in their organisation

 
 

The Information Governance Initiative (IGI) is a US based think tank and community dedicated to advancing the adoption of Information Governance (IG) practices and technologies through research, events, advocacy and peer-to-peer networking. The IGI are dedicated to the professionalisation of IG and have called for the creation of a new kind of information leader called the Chief Information Governance Officer. The IGI Annual Report has become an industry standard reference guide for organisations benchmarking and building their IG programs.

The International Association of Privacy Professionals Australia and New Zealand (iappANZ) is the pre-eminent forum for privacy professionals in Australia and New Zealand. iappANZ is affiliated with the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), the largest and most comprehensive global information privacy community and resource with more than 23,000 members. iappANZ works with public and private entities across all industry sectors in Australia and New Zealand as well as the Privacy Commissioners in both countries.  iappANZ promotes the intrinsic value of professional privacy practices and offers its members a wealth of opportunities to expand their privacy knowledge, compliance, interests and networks. iappANZ members in Australia and New Zealand represent some of the best minds in the privacy field, from large public companies and the government sector to not for profit, SMEs and individuals.

International Legal & Technology Association (ILTA) was founded in 1980 and delivers relevant, peer-developed programming to its constituents around the globe.  ILTA provides expertise and real-world experiences, ongoing learning and support for every professional who works in the legal sector.  Matthew Golab, who is a member of our Advisory Board was an inaugural recipient of ILTA's Browning Marean Scholarship in 2015, providing international recognition of his leadership in eDiscovery and litigation technology.  

 
 

The Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) is the longest-serving peak body for industry practitioners in the southern hemisphere.
