The UK Government released on 29 March a White Paper setting out plans for implement a pro-innovation approach to AI regulation. The intention is not to introduce AI legislation ‘too early’ and relies on collaboration between government, business and empowering regulators to take the lead.
The principles to guide regulator responses are: safety, security and robustness; appropriate transparency and explainability; fairness; accountability and governance; contestability and redress.
