Description

With technology moving much quicker than most predicted, it’s hard to keep up. That’s why it’s essential that you attend LawFest 25 which will provide you with practical insights into the latest trends and best practices in legal innovation.

These are exciting times as Generative AI has brought AI into the mainstream – enabling the legal profession to fundamentally change how it operates and how legal services can be delivered. LawFest will explore the opportunities that AI can provide to enhance how you work, so you are not left behind by the transformation.

Of course, LawFest is so much more than simply AI, with something for everyone, from those new to technology, to those currently at the forefront of legal innovation, and everyone in-between.

A programme to inspire & challenge your thinking

With 20+ amazing speakers from New Zealand and abroad, the interactive programme will deliver practical insights of how to innovate and leverage technology to help you deliver legal services for today and the future.

For 2025 we welcome the exceptional Janey Haringa as the MC of the incredible speaker line-up.

Global innovation leader Frances Valintine CNZM, will examine what we know about the new world of business and imagine how it might change our responses to prepare for it. Her session will explore the potential + opportunities of GenerativeAI, while highlighting the importance of responsible AI and ethical considerations.

Nick Abrahams is one of Australasia’s most entertaining, informative and thought-provoking speakers. Nick will show exactly how AI is fundamentally reshaping the practice of law, including what AI solutions are actually working for legal teams – both in-house and in private practice! You will hear timeless human skills which, when enhanced by AI technology, become remarkable differentiators for you in an increasingly complex landscape.

Demetrio Zema will share how he built a true alternative to traditional law firms. He will provide insights on the changes to the profession, the shifting business models and the shift in client expectations and receptiveness of new and alternative engagements away from traditional engagements.

Fiona McLay will explore why tech alone isn’t a magic bullet, and how tech enabled lawyers can better serve clients, find more satisfaction, and build more resilient businesses. She will show practical ways to adopt technology in your organisation

There are many other interactive sessions with two not to be missed panels. One brings together leading legal experts to discuss what they expect for the future delivery of legal services, sharing practical examples of how you can enhance how you work and deliver legal services for the future. The other will showcase legal innovators who have disrupted the conventional way of delivering legal services.

One of the exciting new changes for LawFest in 2025 is our new short sharp Tech Talksformat, to hear practical insights of how legal professionals have leveraged tech. These talks from legal professionals will highlight the Why, What, How and the Lessons Learnt from a number of different tech projects.

Checkout the full programme and all the speakers.

LawFest will continue to inspire and challenge your thinking and guarantee you will find something you can take away and implement in your own team.

See all the legaltech in the one place

LawFest will again feature the largest expo of legal tech solutions in New Zealand, with 30+ exhibitors all under the one roof. This is a not to be missed opportunity to see who they are, what they do, and how they might be able to help you!

If you want to innovate, adapt, leverage technology, drive efficiency and prepare for the future, then LawFest is for you!
