Join InfoGovANZ for AI Governance Essentials, a practical MeetUp on the latest developments in AI governance and what they mean for organisations using generative AI, embedded AI tools, analytics, automation and emerging agentic AI capabilities.

AI governance is changing quickly. Organisations are moving beyond general AI policies and acceptable use guidance into practical questions about agentic AI, cybersecurity, privacy, automated decision-making, vendor systems, monitoring, human oversight, records and assurance.

This session will help participants keep up to date with key developments and consider what organisations need to have in place to govern AI responsibly, manage risk and demonstrate accountability.

It will also be useful for those who have completed the InfoGovANZ AI Governance: Risk, Accountability and Assurance course and want to stay current as regulatory, cybersecurity and governance expectations continue to develop.

In this session, we will discuss:

• Agentic AI and changing risk profiles
  How agentic AI differs from general AI assistance, and why tool access, memory, workflow integration, autonomy and execution capability create new governance issues.
• Cybersecurity and operational resilience
  Why AI governance needs to address identity, access, least privilege, monitoring, logging, pause and rollback capability, incident response and vendor controls.
• Privacy and responsible AI use
  How organisations should think about personal information, use and disclosure, privacy impact assessment, transparency, data minimisation, security and accountability when deploying AI tools.
• Automated decision-making and transparency
  What organisations need to consider in relation to automated decision-making, privacy notices, affected individuals, explainability, contestability and records of assessment.
• AI registers, impact assessment and evidence
  Why organisations need reliable visibility of AI use, documented risk assessments, accountable owners, approval pathways, testing, monitoring and assurance evidence.
• From policy to implementation
  How to move beyond high-level AI principles and build practical controls that support responsible use, organisational accountability and ongoing oversight.
