The critical role of data and information has been highlighted in the ongoing response to COVID-19.

The COVID pandemic expedited data sharing across government departments and the Commonwealth over the past two years.  Key to ensuring data-led innovation results in advances for citizens is the protection of personal information and robust governance.

We invite you to join us for an engaging discussion on the lessons learned from COVID-19 with our special guests:

  • The Hon. Victor Dominello MP – Minister for Digital, Minister for Customer Service
  • Samantha Gavel – NSW Privacy Commissioner
  • Dr Ian Oppermann – Chief Data Scientist, NSW Government

This interactive discussion will be facilitated by Susan Bennett, Founder and Executive Director of InfoGovANZ.

The discussion will cover:

  • How the New South Wales data-sharing program was utilised for COVID-19 initiatives
  • What are the keys to ensuring confidence and legality in data sharing?
  • How is the balance struck between data-led initiatives for citizens and government policies?
  • Why governance in data, privacy and information sharing is critical?
  • What are the lessons for all organisations in responding to unexpected events?
