Lawfest 2020

18 March 2020, Cordis Auckland

New Zealand’s premier legal innovation & technology event

On 18 March 2020, over 250 delegates will be attending New Zealand’s premier legal innovation and technology event – LawFest.

LawFest is designed for all legal professionals with an interest in innovation and leveraging technology. There will be the opportunity to learn, connect with innovators, establish relationships, and discover technology that matters to you and your practice.

You will hear from those that are innovating and explore opportunities to help you transform how legal services are delivered, for today and the future. The speakers will deliver practical insights of what they are doing, together with how they started, but you’ll also learn from their stories of success and failure and what they did next.

LawFest continues to be the only event in New Zealand providing the opportunity to meet and see leading legal technology in the large exhibition hall, together with live legal tech demonstrations.

A programme to inspire & challenge your thinking

The programme provides something for everyone, from those new to technology, to those currently at the forefront of legal innovation.

Google legal operations guru Mary O’Carroll leads the amazing line-up of over 30 speakers from New Zealand and abroad that promise to inspire and challenge your thinking.

Justice Minister Andrew Little joins other leading legal professionals to discuss embracing and driving change with how to go about preparing the profession for the future. Further speakers include voice and communication expert Lisa Lockland-Bell, hear how you can make innovation part of your DNA from Tech Futures Lab’s Sarah Hindle, whilst PwC’s NewLaw lead Mick Sheehy will explore the ‘Implications for the Legal Industry’ of the move by the Big 4 into legal.

Caryn Sandler of Gilbert + Tobin will show how organisations go about creating an innovative culture, whilst Titus Rahiri from KorumLegal in Hong Kong explores the opportunities of client centric innovation in Asia-Pacific. You are guaranteed to find something you can take away and implement in your own team, with insights from leading in-house lawyers Sian Wingate, Katie Bhreatnach and Tom Lane. From discussing privacy, trust and technology, access to justice, preparing tomorrows lawyers, opportunities outside the law through to legal design, LawFest has something for everyone.

If you are interested in innovation and technology to drive efficiency in your organisation, then LawFest is the event for you.
