Description

The need for organisations to have a strategic and comprehensive Information Governance framework becomes more important as:

  • artificial intelligence (AI) in data analytics, record retention and archiving, and robotic process automation (RPA) increases

  • the global trend for stronger regulations to protect personal information and increasing sanctions for data breaches and failures to secure data continues in 2020; and

  • strategic decisions and robust IG are required to manage the tension between storing exponentially larger volumes of date for data analytics, the regulatory requirements to store data to comply with record and archiving regulations with the regulatory requirements to dispose of personal data under privacy/data protection regulations

In this roundtable, Susan Bennett Executive Director of InfoGovANZ, dissects the findings of the recent InfoGovANZ Survey Report and trends for 2020 from a global perspective. Susan is joined by special guests:

  • Stephen Bolinger the Chief Privacy Officer of Cochlear and Australia’s Country Leader of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP)

  • Ryan McConville Information Manager leading the implementation of RADICAL at the Australian Human Rights Commission

  • May Robertson who is Australia’s representative on the recently formed working group for the new ISO Information Governance standard, TC46 WG13
